pick a god and pray!

Salutations, soldier! You've stumbled upon Pick A God And Pray, a personal tribute to the Fire Emblem series. Since the first game's release in 1990, Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo's longest running franchises and up until Blazing Sword and its breakout in Western markets in 2004, entirely exclusive to Japan. That's about the point where I come in.

This site is not an in-depth analysis of every person and place and idea (because I would like to retain my sanity), but more a reflection on my own journey within Fire Emblem, of my history with each iteration, in the order I originally played them. Think of it as an essay I wrote in 2017 ending with Fates that I don't plan to further update, but am still proud of. That, however, doesn't stop me from having a copious amount to say and plenty of (dubious) unit advice to give. It is as much a celebration as a critical take on my highs and lows in the franchise, and all about the opinions of yours truly - your mileage may vary.

As would be expected, this site is filled to the brim with unmarked spoilers for the entire series. This site is also written assuming that the reader has at least a passing knowledge of the series. Casual references exist in every section to other continents and characters, and nowhere is safe from that pesky information. If you don't mind, excellent! If you do, please venture forth carefully.

Pick A God And Pray is listed at Amassment and Emotion, and doubles as thefanlistings.org approved fanlisting for the video game series itself. Why not join if you're a fan?

Lastly, this tribute is maintained by Rems, and all updates can be found at Lumas. If you have any questions (or comments), feel free to drop me an e-mail. Grab your sword, lance, axe, tome and dragonstone, and get ready to fight!
